USING Web Search Engine
One of the importance of internet is searching
for information. The internet carries a great display of information resources
and services. To search for information on the internet, web search engines are
used.
Web Search Engine is a computer program that searches for specific words and returns a list of World Wide Web (WWW) sites, personal computer files or documents in which they were
found. Web Search Engine is also a software system that is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The search results are generally presented in a line of results often referred to as search engine results pages (SERPs). The information may be a mix of web pages, images, news and other types of files. Some search engines also mine data available in databases or open directories. Unlike web directories, which are maintained only by human editors, search engines also maintain real-time information by running an algorithm on a web crawler. How Web search engines work
Web Search Engines work by sending out a spider to fetch as many documents as possible. Another program, called an indexer, then reads these documents and creates an index based on the words contained in each document. Each search engine uses a proprietary algorithm to create its indices such that, ideally, only meaningful results are returned for each query. As many website owners rely on search engines to send traffic to their website, and entire industry has grown around the idea of optimizing Web content to improve your placement in search engine results.
